4-3 Accessories: Canopy

The canopy of the late-production Fw190D-9 was the bulged Galland-Haube type.
This canopy was made by heat-pressing a PVC sheet over a wooden mold prepared for heat forming.
The window frame portions are left intact, and the transparent sections are masked with cellophane tape.

4-4 Accessories: Cockpit and Others

Work on the cockpit interior equipment has begun.
The seat was made by heat-pressing plastic sheet. The instrument panel was also made by drilling holes into a thin plastic sheet.
The control stick was fabricated by soldering together pieces of brass wire.
The side consoles on both sides of the seat were made of synthetic wood, with small levers and switches crafted from brass sheet and soldered in place.
The canopy sliding handle was made from a section of p…

4-2-1 Tires & Wheels

The tires and wheels are machined from synthetic wood. The parts shown from left to right are: the main wheel hub (leftmost), two main wheel tires (center), and the tail wheel tire material (rightmost).
Because the tail wheel hub is small, it is made from a piece of plastic sprue.

4-1-1 Spinner

The spinner is shaped from the same round bar stock that was used for the core of the annular radiator.
The photo shows the square wood block before it was turned into a round bar.
Make sure the block’s ends are perfectly perpendicular, draw a center line, and carefully drill the rotation-axis holes from both ends using a pin vise.
Then, turn the square block into a round rod and divide it into two pieces—one for the radiator and one for the…
