Modeling History (Self-Introduction)

[Chronicles of Japanese Solid Models] Vol. 1 Yasuichi Takami: The Quiet Craftsman Who Sustained Postwar Model Culture

Mr. Yasuichi Takami(1935-2017) was born in Osaka City and is a professional cabinetmaker. His favorite genre is naval aircraft, and he has produced many works featuring U.S. Navy and Marine Corps planes in particular. Although his production period for each model was very short, he was well known for creating works with a distinctive atmosphere, and he had many fans throughout Japan. The photographs and construction articles of his models, published in aviation magazines, captivated readers and enthusiasts alike. In Osaka, a unique local dialect is spoken, and when combined with Mr. Takami’s personality, it became one of his many charms.

Next time, we will introduce an article on solid model construction that was published in a magazine.
