==== Nose bombardier’s canopy ====
{{:en:records:he115b_reform:bombardier_canopy.jpg?nolink&700|Nose bombardier’s canopy}}
**Original post text: Kazu Fukuda / English translation**
The nose bombardier’s canopy has a complex shape, and forming it in one pull would be difficult, so it was heat-pressed in upper and lower sections.\\
The upper and lower parts will eventually be bonded together and finished as a single canopy, so a bonding flange was attached to the upper part in advance.

==== Heat-pressed canopies ====
{{:en:records:he115b_reform:hp_canopies.jpg?nolink&700|Heat-pressed canopies}}
**Original post text: Kazu Fukuda / English translation**
All of the canopies were made by heat-pressing. The transparent areas were masked with cellophane tape, leaving the window frame areas exposed.\\
From left to right: the forward nose rotating gun position canopy, the upper nose canopy, the upper half of the bombardier’s canopy, the lower half of the bombardier’s canopy, and the upper fuselage canopy.\\
The bombardier’s canopy is difficult to form in a single pull, so it was divided into upper and lower sections.

==== Wooden formers for the canopies ====
{{:en:records:he115b_reform:formers_canopies.jpg?nolink&700|Wooden formers for the canopies}}
**Original post text: Kazu Fukuda / English translation**
After the wooden former for the nose bombardier’s canopy was completed, additional wooden formers were made for heat-pressing the hemispherical rotating gun position canopy at the nose tip, the upper nose canopy, and the upper fuselage canopy.\\
From left to right: the former for the nose tip gun position, the former for the nose bombardier’s canopy, the former for the upper nose canopy, and the former for the upper fuselage canopy.

==== Trial fitting of the nose section ====
{{:en:records:he115b_reform:fitting_nose_section.jpg?nolink&700|Trial fitting of the nose section}}
**Original post text: Kazu Fukuda / English translation**
The nose section was trial-fitted to the main body.\\
Taking into account the thickness of the PVC sheet to be heat-pressed, the width and height of the nose section were made smaller than those of the main body.

==== Shaping the new nose section ====
{{:en:records:he115b_reform:new_nose_section.jpg?nolink&600|Shaping the new nose section}}
**Original post text: Kazu Fukuda / English translation**
The new nose section was shaped.\\
This will also serve as the wooden former for heat-pressing the bombardier’s canopy.
